Dermaplaning Treatment in Margate, Kent

What is dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a method of exfoliation that uses a surgical scalpel to gently scrape off the top layer of dull, dead skin cells along with the peach fuzz hair. This reveals a smoother, brighter complexion. It allows for greater penetration of skincare products and creates beautifully flawless skin for your makeup.
Dermaplaning can be a standalone treatment or used in conjunction with a deeply hydrating nourishing mask or a mild chemical peel. The whole treatment takes around 45 mins – 1 hour.

How does dermaplaning work?
Dermaplaning uses a sterile sharp surgical blade held at a 45-degree angle to gently scrape the outer layer of the skin which consists of dull, dead skin cells, and peach fuzz hair. Your skin is gently pulled tight and lightly while gliding the blade in an upward motion using delicate, feathering strokes.

Is dermaplaning painful?
Dermaplaning is painless.

Are there any potential side effects of dermaplaning?
You may experience slight redness/irritation. Side effects of dermaplaning are normal and usually go away within 24/48 hours.
Following a Dermaplaning Treatment, you may experience purging. Purging occurs when deep exfoliation treatments have been performed. During facials, impurities have been brought to the surface.
You can return immediately to your normal activates however we do advise that you do not touch the area for 12-24 hours and do not apply makeup for the same length of time.
If removing fine light hair, it does not grow back darker or thicker.

Am I Candidate for dermaplaning?
It can be used for all skin types except active acne and rosacea. Dermaplaning may NOT be performed on individuals with psoriasis, eczema, or individuals with open lesions.

How many treatments do I need?
You can have this as a one-off treatment in preparation for an important event, or to maintain beautifully glowing skin we recommend having this treatment every 6 weeks.
